My name is Sādé. Pronounced ‘Sha-day’, like the singer who sang ‘Smooth operator’. I was born and raised in South London, UK.
Why did I start my blog? Mainly for two reasons. One – I apparently talk too much (that’s what my friends say, but I truly believe they are just jealous of my expressiveness!). Two – I am a survivor, a testimony, a show of God’s indescribable work.
I had a brain aneurysm in 2017, which unfortunately caused one of my vessels to burst. This caused a lot of swelling and a massive blood clot in my brain. Apparently, it was very serious lol, I mean I did have a quarter of my skull taken out for 6 months soo … yeah.
Any-who, since that day my life has changed. I will not complain and say my life has turned to sh*t, because I have seen someone go through the same as me and did not make it. I have been in hospital and seen the consequences of those who had the same brain injury as mine which are far worse, so who am I to not be grateful of where I am today?!
My partner said this to me:
‘Think of it like this; the path you have gone down, no matter how hard it is, might have been the best one out of all the ones that were placed in front of you. Who’s to say another path wouldn’t have led to something much worse?’
I reflected on it, so now all I can and will do is be thankful for being given a second chance at life!
I am a positive thinker, and a ‘find a solution’ kind of woman. It is not easy, but it is one of the things that has got me this far. My words, thoughts and journey is hopefully a motivation for those who have suffered. Everybody suffers pain at some point. It might not be the same as mine, but I hope my blog can encourage people never to give up. However, remember this is about my life – not just my brain injury.
I am glad you are here x
